Fuel surcharges

New zealand

TNT applies an index-based variable fuel component to all shipments.

International variable fuel component

Effective International Fuel for International shipments:

From 3 December 2017 - 27 January 2018: 0.25%
From 28 January 2018 - 3 March 2018: 1.00%

The index-based variable fuel component for New Zealand is based on the U.S Gulf Coast (USGC) kerosene-type jet fuel spot price. It will be adjusted monthly based on a rounded average of the spot price for a gallon of kerosene-type jet fuel, as published by the US Energy information agency (EIA). To download the latest price table from their website click here.

Effective 1 January 2018, we have updated our fuel surcharge index table. The fuel surcharge will be adjusted monthly in line with the change in USGC kerosene-type jet fuel spot prices according to the following table.

Domestic variable fuel component

Effective Domestic Fuel for Domestic shipments

From 3 December 2017 - 27 January 2018: 1.60%
From 28 January 2018 - 3 March 2018: 2.60%

Our domestic index-linked variable fuel component is based on the average New Zealand weekly diesel price. We use the weekly average diesel price figure to calculate the average diesel price for each calendar month. An index based locally for local deliveries links the variable fuel component to the prevailing domestic market price for diesel which in turn influences fluctuations in our actual fuel costs.

For Domestic shipments the weekly average diesel price is published in NZ$ per litre by the Ministry of Economic Development. Details can be found here.

TNT reserves the right to change the variable fuel component index and table without notice.  Both the amount and duration of the variable fuel component will be determined at TNT's sole discretion.
